September 30:
Thankful that my books and school work items arrived today! I can finally get my hands into this reading and work on the lessons. Yay!
Give Thanks,
Sarah

Blog Around the World Tour
I was nominated by Cheryl from Sweet Dreams Quilting who is apart of my Quilt Inspiration 365 group. Be sure to check out her post (which was last week), and leave a comment.
Now on to the questions:
What am I working on?
I am in the middle of several projects (as I am almost all the time). I am working on our bedroom decor (quilted comforter), blocks for a block swap, a Halloween door hanger, and a few Halloween costumes.
How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I try to get away from the "old school" styles, and I try to just bring a lot of my "on the fly" style into all my works. I am a little modern with a small love for some of the traditional items, but I am into working on stuff that you don't see a lot of. I like making door hangers (instead of wreaths), I enjoy making burp cloths (from scratch) and bibs too. If I see something I like, but can't afford it, my way around it is to try and make it! I'm that kind of "style".
Why do I write/create what I do?
I do it because its my passion. I want to help others, I love to share my ideas, and I love to know that what I am doing could have some impact (if only one person), its an impact! I love giving, and I feel like when I make something homemade, that its like I am giving them a piece of who I am, and what I want them to remember me as. I want them to feel loved because I didn't just rush out and buy something, I spent time making it. Thats why I make these quilts and projects, and write these posts. We all should be thankful for what we have, and remember that so many others need more. I just want to make a change somewhere, even if its small, its a change.
How does my writing/creative process work?
I am kind of inspired by almost anything. A car, a bike, a color, a style, another persons project, etc. Once I am inspired by something, I google, jump on pinterest and any other media site I can; and thats where I dig deep to find patterns or other ideas. Once I have a full blown idea of what I want to do, I draw it out. I then check my stash, and create. When I am writing; I am a little more unorganized. I kind of just work with what the audience wants to see, and then fill in around those posts. I eventually blog almost everything, but just takes me time!
I am nominating Megan over at Sew Stitching Cute . You have a week, please answer the questions above, and post your post on September 29.
I look forward to all the wonderful post!

May Give Thanks, Week 2
May 8:
Another day, another ER for my oldest son. Again, another hard day to find something to be thankful for, but while we spent our day at UC Davis ER, I have to say it was one of the most caring, nicest, updated, facility with amazingly kind and passionate nurses and doctors working hard to help find out whats going on with our son. It was an amazingly stressful day with such love and care from the entire ER unit. Thank you to all of them, for all they do.
May 9:
My husband is back at work today, after spending the past two days at the ERs with us, and I am thankful for his hard work, his dedication to both his family and career. He is an amazing husband and a beautiful soul inside and out. I can't thank him enough for all he does for us. I love you babe!
May 10:
A great day of relaxation, and thankful for all the cuddles and love from my wonderful boys, and wonderful husband.
May 11:
Its Mother's Day, so of course I am thankful for my amazing Mother! I love her and couldn't thank her enough for all she has done for myself and my brother and sister! Best mother ever!!
May 12:
Thankful to feel peace, calmness, and just simple happiness. Its been a great day.
May 13:
Feeling accomplished and thankful for a few minutes to finish up the boys stove/oven unit. Its pretty much done being painted, and all it needs now is the hardware! Feels good.
May14:
Thankful to find out that most of my families and friends houses (in southern California) are all safe from the wild fires raging right now. Stay safe southern California!
Give Thanks,
Sarah

March 29:
Finished putting some art work up on the walls in my craft room, that I have been working on for weeks. So thankful for the accomplishment of that project and the feeling I got putting them on the walls!
March 30:
Thankful for sunny weather, since it's been raining for something like a week. Felt great to go for a walk!

March Giving Thanks, Week 3
March 15:
Husband of course has another weekend duty/work. I am just so thankful today that he got off in a decent hour, so he could see the boys and be with them for awhile. I feel like some days he doesn't even see them at all.
March 16:
Thankful for a chance to attend a LOCAL quilt show! Its not every day I get to drive down the street and look at some awe inspiring, and amazing art. The ladies who made some of these quilts have inspired me to get working on some art work for my sewing room.
March 17:
Happy St. Patty's Day everyone. We are thankful for a clean bill of health for my oldest son, today; as he had his 2 year old check up. It went great and we had no issues to address.
March 18:
A day in San Francisco, that is what I am so thankful for today. Family time, a fun busy city, clam chowder in a sourdough bowl, and the Aquarium my son couldn't get enough of! Best Day EVER!
March 19:
Thankful for a small window of alone time, and just enough time to finish up one of my wall art pieces that I sewed all by hand!
March 20:
In life we experience big events, and small everyday occurrences; but to be thankful for a friendly face, a caring small conversation, and a sweet gesture to come over and hangout, can mean more then words can describe. I walk our housing area at least 3 times a week, if not more. I see officers houses full of toys, boxes of stuff they don't use, and probably haven't touched in weeks, if not months; I see enlisted families chit chatting with their neighbors, dogs and children playing, smiling and laughing. All while I walk around, day after day, seeing mostly the same faces, and same kids. Today, a new neighbor a few streets over actual came towards me when I smiled and said hello. She stopped, chatted with me, listened, and I am sure she will never know this, but that small conversation made my week. I still don't have any friends here, and just when I thought my biggest interaction with adults on this base would be the friendly smiles; the universe shows me otherwise, letting me have a chance of making a real friend. I am thankful for that. I am thankful for the ache I feel in my heart, has dwindled slightly and a small smile has appeared on my face. Tomorrow, I'll walk around our housing area again, and it will look forward to hopefully running into her again. There are still true real people in the world, feeling what I am feeling.
March 21:
I am thankful for my husband being able to have a short day at work so we could take the kids to the playground. Which was a ton of fun. A small moment of pure happiness.
Give Thanks,
Sarah
